Leacock Community

The Leacock community extends from Finch Avenue to Sheppard Avenue and Warden Avenue to Birchmount Road.

The Leacock community was named to recognize the contributions of Canadian humourist Stephen Leacock after whom the local Collegiate Institute was named. The West Highland Creek tributary splits the community into three natural areas.

Like many Scarborough communities, Leacok is a mix of some detached homes, townhouses and high rise apartment buildings, mostly rental.

The Schools in this community are St. Aidan, Timothy Eaton B.T.I., Timberbank Jr. Public School, John Buchan Sr Public School, Stephen Leacock C.I. and Holy Spirit Catholic School. This neighbourhood also encompases Timberbank Park and Stephen Leacock Park

The churches in this community are St. Aidan Catholic Church, Bridlewood Presbyterian, Chinese Gospel Church Scarborough, Wesley Chapel Free Methodist and Holy Spirit Roman Catholic.

A central feature of the community is the the Leacock Community Centre, located on Birchmount Road.
